In a Special Meeting of Council held on January 14, 2019, an Acting Registrar for the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists Manitoba (CASLPM) was appointed.  The role of the Acting Registrar has the same authority, duties and responsibilities as those of the Registrar and is valid until the next meeting of Council.  (Please see By-Law Article 6.0 – Acting Registrar 6.7-6.10)

Leslie Goerzen, CASLPM Council Member (Area 2) has been appointed as Acting Registrar.  She will be undertaking the duties on a volunteer basis with the full support of the Council.  This Acting position will be sustained until an Interim Registrar is in place and oriented or until the next meeting of Council.  These actions will ensure that the duties of the College are met and that the College continues to serve and protect the public.

Leslie Goerzen has worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist for 28 years, in Manitoba public schools, and currently is the Consultant for Speech-Language Pathology for Manitoba Education and Training, Student Services Unit.  She has been a member of the CASLPM Council since the fall of 2014.

The CASLPM Registrar may be reached by phone at 204-453-4539 or by email to

As this is a volunteer role for Leslie, in parallel, the College is sending out a Request for Proposals (RFP) to recruit an Interim Registrar on a part time basis as a paid position until the position can be filled on a permanent basis.  This will allow the College to fill the role quickly while providing adequate time for the recruitment process.

The Request for Proposals is open to any individual to submit an application provided they meet the required criteria outlined on the RFP.  It is worth noting that becoming the successful candidate for the Interim Registrar does not prevent one from applying for the permanent position when it is posted in the future.   Council is hopeful that the Interim Registrar position will be filled quickly at which time Leslie will return to her regular role as a Council member for CASLPM.   Please refer to the RFP posted on the CASLPM website at for further information.
