The Council of the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Manitoba is pleased to welcome a new Registrar/Executive Director. Colleen J. Braun is a seasoned corporate leader in administration, communications, human resources, operations, and policy and process. For the last five years, Colleen held the position of Associate Director of Admissions at Balmoral Hall School where she led admissions and new student registration. Previously Colleen worked for a large construction firm where she developed policies and processes and managed large budgets. In her career to date, Colleen has served boards as corporate secretary and chaired committees of executives, mid-level managers, and administrators. Colleen is a broad thinker, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator. The Council is looking forward to Colleen’s contributions to the CASLPM.

Colleen is currently meeting with the Acting Registrar, Kristin Holt, for education and training. Colleen will fully step into the role of Registrar/Executive Director for the College on January 3, 2022.

At this time, the Council of the CASLPM would like to thank Acting Registrar, Kristin Holt, for her dedication to the College since July 2021. Under Kristin’s direction, and with the contributions of other staff members, the CASLPM was able to continue its mandate of regulation of the fields of audiology and speech-language pathology for public protection. Kristin’s last day at the College will be on December 22, 2021.

The College office will be closed from Friday December 24th through Sunday January 2nd to give our staff some much needed rest. The College will reopen on Monday January 3, 2022, to begin a promising new year at the CASLPM.

Season’s Greetings to each of our registrants and stakeholders.

Heather Shpak

CASLPM President, on behalf of the CASLPM Council
