Please read the important report entitled: Report on the Impacts of Systemic Racism in the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Professions in Quebec.

This report is the result of the work of the Groupe d’Action AntiRaciste en Orthophonie et en Audiologie (GAAROA). The GAAROA is a collective of speech-language pathologists and audiologists who feel a need for action to address the ongoing and ever-present problems of systemic racism in our society. They aim to raise awareness among speech-language pathologists and audiologists in Quebec and Canada, as well as their partners in the fields of health and education, about the ongoing and harmful effects of systemic racism on Black, Indigenous and People of Color in Quebec and Canada. Most importantly, they aim to promote best practices in the hope that speech-language pathologists and audiologists will integrate them into their daily practices. In addition, the strong hope of the GAAROA is that the proposed solutions will encourage professionals and institutions with which speech-language pathologists and audiologists collaborate to take the first steps towards a truly inclusive health and education system for all.
